Alberta Mathematics 10C: Building the Foundations of Mathematical Thinking

Mathematics 10C is the mandatory prerequisite for all 20-level mathematics courses (Mathematics 20-1, Mathematics 20-2, and Mathematics 20-3). This foundational course introduces students to core mathematical concepts including measurement, algebra, relations and functions, and linear equations. Through these interconnected topics, students develop the problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and mathematical reasoning necessary for success in higher-level mathematics.

Our Mathematics 10C program at Maple Academic Centre aims to build strong mathematical foundations while developing confidence in problem-solving and analytical thinking. We emphasize conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and structured problem-solving rather than simple memorization of procedures. Students are guided to interpret mathematical relationships, apply strategies to unfamiliar problems, and communicate their reasoning clearly, developing the core skills necessary for success in higher-level mathematics.
